USS Corsair News-August 2025

STARFLEET News

Get ready for the CS election, kicking off from September 1 to September 30, 2025! Check your inbox for an email from Simply Voting, sent to the address you registered with. This email will contain your ballot and guide you on how to vote, just as I mentioned earlier. There’s also an important amendment on the table. At the ECAB meeting during the International Conference on August 1, 2025, the Admiralty Board (AB) has decided to shift STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc., from its home in North Carolina to Delaware. To make this transition smooth, we’ll be updating our Bylaws to generalize the reference from “North Carolina” to simply “the organization’s State of Incorporation.” This way, our Bylaws will stay up-to-date now and in the future, even if we need to change states again—without the hassle of another full membership vote for something as straightforward as a state name update.

Exciting news—we’ve made ‘First Contact’… kind of! We’re teaming up with a chapter in Brazil! There might be a bit of a language barrier, so if you speak Spanish or Portuguese, please let your CO know. We’ll be diving into some awesome science-themed videos showcasing local adventures.

The Diplomatic Corps is on the lookout for Ambassadors ready to forge connections with other groups. The SFDC will embark on a friendship mission, exploring unique cultures and seeking out like-minded organizations to expand our horizons and enhance our community’s reputation. Together, we’ll dive into the diverse cultures of our planet and the fascinating civilizations showcased in Star Trek and Science Fiction fandom!

Regional News

The 2026 Region 3 Summit will be a one day affair held at a VFW in Killeen, TX. Reason is to bring down the costs because the Regional budget is a bit tight. Hoping to use this year to rebuild it and go back to having a weekend summit in 2027.
