STARFLEET Auxiliary News-July 2025

In the heart of STARFLEET, the Auxiliary Service brings together a lively group of people who share common interests and goals. Imagine a team of friends who love costuming, 3D printing, or talking about their pets; they gather to create a special club where everyone can share ideas and lend a hand. Here are some of the ways the different Auxiliary Services are having fun in STARFLEET.

STARFLEET Medical-The Reading Challenge continues! Get credit for reading all those books at the beach. Certificates of achievement are awarded monthly. Each month features a theme. Last month (June 2025) was Dinosaurs. To participate, join their FB Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/629694422582052. There is also a Step Challenge that at the end of the year can help Region 3 win “Steppiest Region of the Year”. Their newsletter “Hypospray” is also available for STARFLEET members.

STARLEET Sciences-Scientific Research Teams are forming now! Its mission is to foster participation in science-related activities. The USS Corsair is looking into participating and needs a Lead Researcher. Sciences also as an “Away Team Academy Challenge” where for six weeks Science Officers study a particular field. For Week 6 (July 6-12): MOO 105 – Prokaryotes-Bacteria, Part 1. The SOL Speaker series will have Owen Stewart having a talk about “Flagship Species: How Cheetah Conservation Drives Biodiversity”.

STARFLEET Corps of Engineers-Engineering has been focusing on updating or creating new logos for Chapters. They are also creating their own website for their members.

STARFLEET Marines-The Marines have a reading challenge too!

STARFLEET Petfleet-Petfleet has started its own walking challenge for owners and their pets. The Academy Challenge for this quarter is “Worms”. Participants can earn special awards!

STARFLEET Tactical-In June, Tactical sponsored training sessions on the RPG “Star Trek Adventures.” A few chapters are broadcasting their ‘missions’ on Twitch.
