Priority Message from Starfleet Command
Greetings, fellow crew members and Star Trek enthusiasts! Another orbit is complete, bringing us together for our March chapter meeting. As we chart our course for the coming months, here’s a download of all the key information and upcoming events.
Region 3 Updates: Accolades and Assemblies
First off, let’s recognize excellence within our ranks! All Region 3 Officer of the Year awards have been officially submitted. The anticipated announcements and honors will be bestowed during the STAR TREK: First Contact Movie Event & Awards on Saturday, April 4th, starting at 4:00 PM at the Celebrity Theater. This is a chance to celebrate the dedication and stellar achievements of our very own.
Prepare for the main event of the summer! Mark your calendars for the 2026 STARFLEET Region 3 Summit, taking place in Killeen, Texas, from June 19th through 21st. We’ll be celebrating 60 magnificent years of Star Trek with fellow fans from across the region. Registration is budget-friendly, set at just $40.00 until April 10th. This registration fee includes a catered box lunch on Saturday, ensuring you have the fuel for all the galactic excitement. After April 10th, the price goes up to $50.00. Accommodation is convenient too, with a dedicated cluster of hotels along the I-14 corridor for you to choose from. Let’s make this year’s Summit a truly memorable celebration of our shared passion! You can find more information and register online at https://region3.org/2026-region-3-summit/.
Ship Services and Strategic Assets
We have been busy on the Corsair itself, enhancing our digital tools and outreach. A major shout-out to our CO, ADM Trisha, for spearheading the successful launch of the Corsair Cache! This online store is officially open for business at usscorsair.printify.me, offering a variety of Corsair-themed items like t-shirts, mugs, and more. All proceeds from these sales will be split between charitable causes and crucial chapter expenses, such as website maintenance and MailChimp. Got an idea for a unique item? Simply send an email to ADM Trisha.
In a move towards operational efficiency, we are decommissioning Track it Forward as of May 1st, 2026. Lack of user engagement has led us to this decision. In its place, we will be transitioning to COMPASS (Consolidated Online Membership, Promotions, Awards, and Service System), an internal STARFLEET chapter management tool which, best of all, is provided free of charge by STARFLEET International. This centralized system will streamline our operations and make logging crucial information easier for everyone.
Executive Officer’s Report: Captain Gary
Our XO, Captain Gary, has been instrumental in coordinating a busy schedule. As mentioned, the STAR TREK: First Contact Movie Event & Awards is happening next month. For those attending, please look out for an RSVP link via text. Responding to this link will generate an important electronic ticket you’ll need for entry. Before we beam into the cinema, we’ll be convening next door at Bistro Italia at 2:15 PM for a pre-movie meal and camaraderie.
Let’s extend a warm welcome to our newest recruits, William and Kiarra L., who joined on March 4th. We’re thrilled to have you on board! Any new member is highly encouraged to schedule a personalized orientation session with either the CO or XO – just reach out and let us know. Also on the membership front, please be aware of upcoming renewals for April. Notices will be going out this weekend, so make sure to check your subspace communications.
We’re taking part in a meaningful service opportunity this month: STARFLEET Sciences Earth Day 2026 on April 26th. The USS Corsair will be assisting with the ‘Love the Boot’ litter clean-up event at the EBR Main Library. Make sure to represent the ship by wearing your USS Corsair t-shirts, and please bring your own gloves. All other necessary supplies for the cleanup will be provided on-site.
Our next chapter meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, at 7:00 PM and will be hosted via Discord. And for those engaged in small group or individual away missions, remember that these are now to be officially logged through the new COMPASS system https://compass.sfi.org/login. Captain Gary will be holding a dedicated training session soon, and is also perfectly happy to provide one-on-one assistance to any crew members who need help navigating this new application, which conveniently has its own phone app.
Finally, we’ve submitted our application for a fan table at Galaxy Con, happening July 10-12, 2026, at the Ernest Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Corsair and engage with the wider community.
Stardust and Strategy: Reports from the Department Heads
Commander Gail has provided details on a wonderful opportunity for community service and musical appreciation: the New Orleans Jazz Fest, taking place April 21-26, 30, and May 1-3. Help support the New Orleans Drum and Bugle Corp raise crucial funds by volunteering to staff a drink booth. Two types of roles are available: Cashiers (handling credit transactions only) and Drink Fetchers (be prepared for some chilly hands!). Normal shifts are only about half a day, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the festival, which will feature headliners like The Eagles, Stevie Nicks, and Rod Stewart. On the home front, Captain Charlene reports that the next in-person Game Day at Little Wars is scheduled for the third Saturday of April (the 18th) at 4:00 PM. Our last gathering saw five dedicated gamers in attendance. Looking further ahead, June’s Game Day will shift to the fourth Thursday of the month.
Bridge Discussion
Our meeting concluded with a lively open discussion regarding the recently announced cancellation of Starfleet Academy. The general consensus among the crew was one of disappointment, as many felt the institution was showing significant improvement. While this chapter of Starfleet’s educational arm may be closing, we’re confident that the spirit of exploration and learning that it embodied will endure in other forms across the fleet.
That concludes our monthly briefing. Until our next communication on April 23rd, may you all live long and prosper.
This is the USS Corsair, signing off.
